Year 9 and 10 food students embarked on an exciting culinary journey as they visited Coleg Cambria in Wrexham for a special Hospitality and Catering Industry Taster Day, meticulously organised by the esteemed Chefs Forum. This event provided a unique opportunity for budding chefs to delve into the world of hospitality and catering and witness first hand the artistry and innovation behind culinary excellence.
Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, students were treated to captivating cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, including Joshua Morris, the National Chef of Wales 2024, Jordan Barney, and Exose Grant, a MasterChef finalist from 2019. These demonstrations not only showcased advanced culinary techniques but also instilled a deeper appreciation for the culinary arts among the aspiring chefs.
Throughout the day, students had the chance to tantalize their taste buds with a variety of mocktails and delectable canapés, adding a flavourful dimension to their learning experience.
One of the highlights of the day was the Choux Pastry Decorating Competition, where students showcased their creativity and skill in crafting intricate pastry designs. Deimante and Abby were particularly commended for their exemplary participation in the competition, demonstrating a flair for pastry decoration that impressed both peers and professionals alike.
