Geography
We strongly believe that pupils need to be aware of the environment they are living in and our efforts in the Geography department are geared to this end. Pupils are introduced to Physical Geography, which is a study of landscape and climate and Human Geography which considers settlements, work and recreation. We try to balance our view of the world by looking at both local and global issues.
Great use is made of a rich variety of resources together with a variety of other reference works. The main aim of the department is to make the pupils involved and interested in the wider geographical issues and we encourage them to watch relevant television programmes. As much use as possible is made of field trips, especially in Years Ten and Eleven where they are a requirement of the GCSE.
