Dear Parents, Carers & Guardians
Thank you for your understanding during yesterday’s issue with the year 11 parents evening. The following statement has been provided by SchoolCloud, the service that we are using for the online parents evenings:
“SchoolCloud provides parents’ evening software to over 5,000 schools, and experienced an outage on 14th January affecting the parents & teachers accessing video calls at that time. An update to the system in December caused a web page to perform slowly and this ultimately took the system offline. This wasn’t up to the high standard of service that schools expect of us, nor that we expect of ourselves. We have already made changes, and continue to take further steps to ensure that you can continue to enjoy this new format of parents’ evenings.”
Due to the system failure we will be rearranging the important year 11 parents evening to take place on Thursday 21st January. I am confident that you will agree that it is crucial that the you, as parents, have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with your teacher at this most challenging and important time.
All previously booked appointments will be moved to the new date automatically and we have had assurances from SchoolCloud that the same server failure will not happen again. All parents who had made an appointment will shortly receive an email confirmation of the new date and appointment times.
