The Integrated Transport Unit has requested that the following message is sent to parents regarding public transport ahead of schools reopening on June 29th:
If you are planning for your child to access public transport for travel to and from school during the coming weeks, please be aware and ensure you understand the following;
- Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, a number of public transport routes are operating at a reduced frequency, it is therefore important you check services are operating at the times required (current timetables are available on the Flintshire County Council or bus operator webpages)
- Operators are strictly adhering to social distancing guidelines, available capacity on vehicles can therefore not be guaranteed. If a service has reached capacity they will not permit any further passengers to board the vehicle
- Operators are requesting contactless payment or the correct fare (some operators have introduced a policy where no change will be given)
- Several operators are stating that face coverings must be worn by all passengers on board their buses
Further information regarding the use of public transport is available on the Welsh Government website and bus operator webpages, should parents have any specific queries they can contact [email protected] who will endeavour to assist.
Thank you / Diolch
