Tim Williams is a Lecturer in the Sports and Public Services Department at Coleg Cambria. He is Programme Leader for the Foundation Degree programmes that are offered in Sports Coaching and Fitness and Health. Additionally, He also oversees the Connah’s Quay Nomads Scholarship programme.
As a Teaching Staff Governor on the college Board he has had the opportunity to gain a detailed insight into how the college performs both strategically and operationally.
In his twelve years at the College he has taught across all academic levels and programmes. Additionally, He has also been part of cross-college focus groups, which have aimed to improve various processes for teaching and business staff throughout the college. These experiences have afforded him the opportunity to develop an excellent rapport with both curriculum and business support staff and brought his team working skills to bear on a variety of improvement activities.
Prior to working at Coleg Cambria, he worked for Sport Flintshire, where he undertook several roles and positions, working with a number of primary and secondary schools throughout Flintshire. These roles helped him to develop a good understanding of the experiences of learners within the education setting.
Having grown up in the Holywell area, Tim is keen to give something back to the local community that has provided him with so many opportunities.
Tim says, “I will bring a proactive approach to ensuring that the school continues to develop the foundations for success. Our school will give young people the opportunity to be the best they can be.”
