Sharon was born in Holywell and is a former student of Holywell High School. After studying for ‘A’ Levels she won a place at Liverpool University to study law.
She has now enjoyed over twenty years of success in the legal profession and specialises in employment law. Her knowledge and experience were recognised when she was appointed Head of Department in the firm of solicitors where she works. Her main strength is in the area of business and corporate law, where she advises on a broad range of business transactions, including strategic planning, restructuring, tribunal representation, drafting policies and procedures through to general employment law advice and assistance. She is a regular speaker at seminars and delivers training for corporate clients.
As Vice Chair of Ysgol Treffynnon of the former governing body and a parent governor at Ysgol Y Fron (now Ysgol Maes Y Felin), Sharon already has experience of school governance and knows the importance of having a clear strategic overview coupled with strong action plans that bring about improvement.
Sharon says, “My skill set will allow me to support the school leadership team by contributing to strategic planning and offering advice on management processes. I am committed to working hard to ensure that Ysgol Treffynnon succeeds in becoming a school noted for education excellence and the first choice for young people and parents in Holywell and Flintshire.”
Sharon brings not only her professional legal expertise, but an ability to ask incisive questions which quickly get to the root of issues. As a local resident she is strongly supportive of the IEB and is determined that it will work in partnership with school management to create an effective team.
