Anneke is the School Business Manager for both Ysgol Treffynnon and Ysgol Maes Y Felin, joining the schools in February 2018.
She has a wealth of experience in Local Government, having worked for both Denbighshire and Flintshire Local Authorities for 19 years. Starting her career as a Flintshire apprentice she gained her administration and finance qualifications to work her way up to a Senior Accountant for Schools.
Anneke left Flintshire in 2012 to take up the senior position of Finance Manager for the Denbigh Cluster of schools and developed her expertise working with both the Primary and Secondary sector. In both Authorities she worked very closely with schools and governing bodies in the management of their delegated budgets and many other aspects of their finances.
Whilst working in Denbighshire, Anneke was a governor of Ysgol Pen Coch and Ysgol Maes Hyfryd, specialist schools in Flint, after working closely with both schools in their initial set up. She remained on their governing bodies until becoming a parent in 2015.
One of her main passions is developing young people and she was instrumental in developing and implementing an apprenticeship scheme within both schools. This successful scheme has seen a variety of young people achieving various qualifications which they would otherwise not have had a chance to experience.
Anneke says, “It is a pleasure to work with both Ysgol Treffynnon and Ysgol Maes Y Felin and I take pride in the work I do to ensure that the pupils of Holywell get the best opportunities afforded to them. Working in education is a privilege and knowing that I can make a difference to young people’s lives is what motivates me”.
